Lead Systems Engineer

Salary: £45,000 – 60,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong hands‑on SQL experience
• A solid full‑stack development background
• Experience designing and developing APIs, integrations and middleware
• Experience working with CRM, ERP or other business‑critical systems
• The ability to understand, modernise and integrate legacy platforms
• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern web technologies
• Exposure to Magento or other e‑commerce platforms is desirable
• Previous experience working within an agency or other fast‑paced project environment
• The confidence to take technical ownership and support less experienced developers
• Around five years commercial development experience

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small systems and software development team
• Design, build and maintain custom middleware and system integrations
• Work extensively with SQL‑based databases and business systems
• Integrate CRM, telephony, accounting software and other third‑party platforms using APIs
• Support wider full‑stack development where required
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Help modernise and migrate legacy platforms into a newly managed environment
• Take technical ownership of a future ERP implementation and integration project
• Support our wider development team on selected client projects

We are Hagerty Digital, and we are expanding our Systems & Integrations team to support a major long‑term client transformation programme. This is a permanent, full‑time role based primarily in our Warmley, Bristol office, with flexibility where appropriate and occasional travel to client or vendor sites as needed. The salary is £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience. This role offers the opportunity to join a growing agency, work closely with our internal development team, leadership and clients, and help shape the future direction of our Systems & Integrations function while delivering complex, business‑critical technology projects.
