Bury Council is proudly opening the brand-new Radcliffe Hub a flagship community leisure and wellbeing destination that is transforming what’s possible for the people of Radcliffe and the wider borough. This isn’t just a new building, it’s a bold statement of investment in our community’s health, happiness and future and one of the most significant developments the borough has seen in years.

Something exciting is happening in Bury and we want warm, welcoming and digitally confident people to be right at the centre of it.

About the Role

As a Concierge Assistant for Bury Council Leisure, you’ll be the welcoming heartbeat of the facility – the person who sets the tone for every customer’s visit from the very first moment they arrive.

This is an exciting and forward‑thinking role at the cutting edge of how modern leisure services operate. You’ll play a central part in Bury Council’s transformation to a fully digital, online leisure service helping customers navigate new booking systems, self‑service kiosks, digital memberships and online platforms with confidence and ease.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with genuine energy, leadership confidence and a real passion for leisure, sport and community wellbeing. You’ll be comfortable leading from the front, making decisions under pressure and inspiring others around you.

You do not need a lengthy CV or years of experience in leisure. What we’re really looking for is someone with warmth, enthusiasm, a genuine love of helping people and the confidence to embrace new digital ways of working. Ideally with:

  • Excellent customer care skills and a natural ability to make people feel welcome and at ease.
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal and numeric competency.
  • Experience of dealing face‑to‑face with customers in a busy, customer‑facing environment.
  • Experience of working in a busy environment whilst maintaining a positive, professional manner.
  • Confidence in the use of online technology and digital systems.
  • Ability to pass on information clearly and concisely to customers of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with diplomacy and empathy.
  • Safeguarding: This post involves working with children, young people and vulnerable adults. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and must be fully committed to safeguarding and always promoting welfare.
