Overview
As a Business Development Manager you will source lending opportunities that support clients’ ambitions for strategic commercial growth. You will use your lending expertise and relationship‑management skills to provide a consultative service that helps clients determine their lending options and establish profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. You will represent Barclays at a variety of events, grow your network and engage audiences while managing your diary effectively.
Responsibilities
- Identify clients’ financial goals, challenges and risk tolerance through analysis of data from investment portfolios and cash flow.
- Research industry trends, regulatory landscape and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
- Design customised solutions that address specific client needs, incorporating products and services from Barclays’ portfolio.
- Communicate the value proposition of proposed solutions, justify recommendations and negotiate terms that benefit both client and bank.
- Provide guidance on financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk‑management and wealth‑management strategies and updates on market trends.
- Assess financial, legal and operational risks associated with client relationships and implement measures to minimise potential losses.
- Document all client interactions, transactions and agreements to ensure transparency, auditability and support product development.
- Monitor client satisfaction, revenue generation and other metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship‑management efforts.
