About the Role

An Unscheduled Care Nurse will work part-time (24 hours a week) at HMP Brixton in London.

Hours

Part‑time, 24 hours a week.

Salary

£44,478 to £46,478 per annum (pro rata), depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Use expert clinical skills and judgement to assess and manage complex patient problems.
  • Provide clinical leadership for the primary care team and act as a critical leader within the scheduled care team.
  • Deliver face‑to‑face care and provide safe and effective health assessments and treatment of patients within the establishment.
  • Accountable for own practice, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge or referral of patients independently.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse: Adult Nursing with current NMC registration
  • Experience working autonomously as a clinical practitioner, following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients through sound use of clinical expertise
  • Knowledge of clinical audit and its relationship to research
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements for the safeguarding of adults and children
