About the Role

The Hart School is seeking a compassionate and resilient Student Support Officer to join our dedicated Pastoral Team, acting as a trusted advocate for our students and helping them realise their full potential. In this vital role, you will play a key part in promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing, offering consistent support and guidance. Working closely with the wider pastoral team, you will be an approachable presence throughout the school day, ready to listen, respond to challenges, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for students, supporting their emotional wellbeing and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Provide consistent support and guidance throughout the school day.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
  • Respond to challenges and contribute to the school’s pastoral strategy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working with children demonstrating challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to build strong and effective relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • Empathetic, proactive and high expectations for every student.
  • Qualified and/or experience in pastoral care or related field preferred.
