A rewarding opportunity has arisen within Blackpool Children Service’s Family Time Team.
Blackpool Children’s Services contribute towards ensuring a high quality service is delivered to Children, Young people and families in Blackpool. As a Family Time worker you will play a key and pivotal role in the lives of those children who are being Looked After on a voluntary basis, in Care Proceedings or in the Care of the Local Authority, and require continued family time with their family.
The role of a Family Time Worker is to supervise, monitor and support family time between children and families in a variety of settings across Blackpool.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that family time is child‑centred and strengths‑based so that the child and/or young person gets the most from their time with their families.
- Support, guide and advise family members around child development and parenting, helping them to grow, develop and improve their patterns of parenting and care.
- Support and empower parents and families to grow their self‑confidence in a parenting role, promoting and encouraging positive relationships and interactions between families, children and young people.
- Facilitate positive interaction between family members and children by supporting families to resolve any behavioural and emotional difficulties displayed by children in the supervised sessions.
- Build strong working relationships with allocated social workers, foster carers and families.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Embrace the Blackpool Families Rock ethos, vision and values.
