Sheet Metal Grinder – Day Shift
Looking for a hands‑on role within a well‑established manufacturing company? The Best Connection Swindon is currently recruiting for a Metal Grinder on behalf of a respected client in the sheet metal industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a skilled production team within a busy and supportive workshop environment.
Our client is based in the Swindon area and is easily accessible by public transport.
Hours and Pay
Monday to Friday, Day Shift
40 hours per week8am-4:30pm
Salary £13.50 – £13.80 DOEOvertime available when required
Key Responsibilities
Grinding & Finishing:
Grinding, smoothing, and finishing metal components to a high standard using handheld grinders and finishing tools.
Quality Control:
Inspecting finished products to ensure all surfaces meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
Production Support:
Supporting the fabrication and production teams with preparation and finishing work as required.
Tool & Machinery Use:
Using workshop machinery, hand tools, and grinding equipment safely and efficiently.
Material Handling:
Moving and handling sheet metal components safely within the workshop environment.
Health & Safety:
Following all health and safety procedures, wearing the correct PPE, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Requirements and Skills
- Previous grinding or metal finishing experience preferred
- Experience using handheld grinders and workshop tools
- Good attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality finishes
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Physically fit and comfortable handling metal components
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently or within a team
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety procedures
