We are seeking a head of middle school who feels called to servant‑hearted leadership, someone who desires to lead with integrity of heart and a skillful hand. Psalm 78v72.

Located in west Christchurch, Middleton Grange School is a high‑achieving Year 1–13, state‑integrated Christian school with a rich heritage. We seek a leader who is committed to equipping young people with the knowledge, skills, and character to engage thoughtfully with contemporary society and grow in their capacity to serve God and others.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will support educational excellence through visionary, outcome‑oriented leadership. You will lead teaching and pastoral care teams to deliver a rich, well‑rounded curriculum.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and inspiring staff through collaborative, servant‑hearted leadership
  • Leading curriculum development and assessment practice across Years 7-10
  • Leading effective, data‑informed teaching and learning within a culture of high expectations
  • Promoting student engagement, welfare, and a sense of belonging, tūrangawaewae
  • Building strong, respectful partnerships with students, families, and the wider school community
  • Responsibility for pastoral care and discipline across the Middle School

The successful applicant will possess:

  • An active, personal Christian faith, a vibrant Christian walk, and a clear understanding of Biblical worldview teaching
  • Highly effective teaching skills with proven school leadership experience
  • Strong pedagogical understanding of learners in Years 7-10
  • A proven ability to build strong personal, community, and team relationships through collaborative leadership and exceptional communication
  • The ability to model Christian faith authentically in both leadership and daily practice
