Customer Services Officer

Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve, Norfolk

Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve is seeking a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Customer Services Officer to join our welcoming team at the Visitor Centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with the public and has an interest in wildlife and conservation, to contribute to the smooth running of a busy and much-loved nature reserve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming visitors and providing excellent customer service at the front desk
  • Answering telephone enquiries and directing queries appropriately
  • Opening and closing the Visitor Centre
  • Operating the till and handling daily cashing up
  • Supporting volunteers and working collaboratively with staff and wardens
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation within the centre
  • Replenishing shop stock and maintaining equipment (e.g. coffee machine)
  • Promoting membership and supporting the work of the reserve
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance while on duty

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with the public
  • Is organised and able to work in a busy environment
  • Has excellent communication and telephone skills
  • Is reliable, trustworthy, and a strong team player
  • Is confident using computers and basic IT systems
  • Has good numeracy and attention to detail
  • Has an interest in wildlife and conservation

Working Pattern & Pay

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Part-time: Friday to Sunday (09:15 – 16:15), every third weekend
  • Additional hours available to cover staff leave and sickness
  • 6 days paid annual leave
  • Training provided

Additional Information

  • This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check (paid for by the Trust)
