Maintenance Technician (Multi-skilled-Electrical Bias)

Band 5 – 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for a time served multi‑skilled technician to join the on‑site maintenance team at Stepping Hill Hospital. The post holder will perform operational maintenance duties including both reactive and planned maintenance to the electrical distribution and systems across the Trust’s premises, including specialist healthcare systems such as IPS and UPS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical distribution and systems across the Trust’s premises.
• Handle reactive and planned maintenance for specialist healthcare systems such as IPS and UPS.
• Take responsibility for systems and equipment such as the Nurse Call, Lifts, BMS and Pneumatic Tube System, including basic mechanical work.
• Work overtime, both rostered and ad‑hoc, at short notice as required to meet the needs of the Trust.
• Form part of the on‑call response team to assist out‑of‑hours staff where required.
• Provide additional support to other disciplines and take maintenance responsibility for mechanical systems including steam raising and pressure systems, as part of the multi‑skilled role.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical based apprenticeship, including City and Guilds and NVQ level3 qualifications.
• Additional experience of Building Management Systems, mechanical systems including steam raising and pressure systems is a distinct advantage.
• A self‑motivated individual with excellent communication skills, able to work independently and as part of a multi‑discipline team to deliver safe and effective maintenance solutions.
