Engineering Plant Operative (Electrical) The Water Supply Function operates and maintains raw water sources and associated water treatment works across Northern Ireland. The Function is responsible for producing treated water to agreed standards for distribution to customers. The purpose of the job is to operate and maintain the Altnahinch and Dungonnell Water Treatment Works together with related raw water resources. To manage raw water resources and deliver potable water to the required quality and quantity and ensure this is done securely, effectively, efficiently, safely and environmentally. Applicants MUST be able to demonstrate in their application and where necessary at interview: ESSENTIAL CRITERIA 1. A relevant National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 3 AND be a time served electrical craftsperson; OR Completion of a recognised electrical apprenticeship AND have significant relevant trade experience working as a craft worker; AND 2. Hold a full current valid driving licence which will enable you to fulfil your responsibilities. 3. Potential employees must have a permanent residence within 25 miles travelling distance by public road to: Newtown-crommelin Waste Water Pumping Station, Skerry East Road, Ballymena, Co Antrim BT43 6RR, as measured by RAC Route Planner from each of the full plant postcodes to your full home postcode via the ‘shortest route’ selection on the website. This is to enable NI Water to meet its key customer service requirements and deliver effective services to customers, particularly in respect of the need to respond promptly to out of hours emergencies. What is on Offer Salary Base salary: £33,496.41 per annum* This payment is made up of a consolidated value of £27,756.36 and a non-consolidated value of £5,740.08 per annum. *Overtime rates are based on the consolidated value only.
