The Payment Operations Manager is accountable for delivering operational excellence, modernising processes and driving continuous improvement within the Payment Operations sub‑capability of the Payment Services capability. Reporting to the Global Payment Services Capability Owner, the manager leads a global team responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payment transactions across direct and indirect clearing channels, ensuring alignment of people, technology and controls to achieve enterprise objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to define and communicate the vision and roadmap for the sub‑capability, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and client needs.
  • Champion modernization and innovation, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and drive productivity.
  • Partner across functions to build robust, scalable, and future‑ready systems.
  • Deliver daily operations, maintaining a resilient and globally consistent operating model.
  • Maintain operational processes, controls and oversight to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
  • Maintain a robust control environment aligned to enterprise risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Comply with service level agreements, providing transparency on service delivery through performance metrics and issue resolution.
  • Provide incident response and crisis management for issues impacting the sub‑capability.
  • Pursue process improvements that enhance client experience and reduce risk.
  • Structure, build, lead and inspire a diverse and high‑performing team.
  • Align workforce planning to Capability objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and service excellence.
  • Manage change effectively, ensuring teams are engaged and resilient.
  • Maintain responsibility for the quality, completeness, timeliness and accuracy of all data and outputs aligned with the sub‑capability.
  • Adhere to data governance standards, regulatory requirements and risk management practices.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in the financial services industry with domain expertise in Payment Operations.
  • Proven experience in operations management within a complex, global organization.
  • Proven leadership guiding teams across different jurisdictions.
  • Proven experience operating within risk, compliance and resiliency frameworks.
  • Operations specialist with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, persuade and deliver concise messaging across a broad, diverse stakeholder group.
