Nights Residential Child Care Worker
Salary £28,142 – £32,061 per annum (pro‑rata if part time). Full‑time positions are 37 hours per week; part‑time positions are also available. The role is based in East Lancashire, covering homes in Burnley, Nelson, Padiham, Clitheroe, Accrington and Haslingden.
International sponsorship is not available for this position.
Essential vehicle: This job may require you to work at different homes across the East Lancashire cluster, so access to your own vehicle is essential.
About the Role
As a nights residential childcare worker you will be responsible for securing the home during the night, providing a friendly presence for children who wake, and maintaining a safe environment. Your duties include engaging in 1:1 work around children’s feelings, emotions and behaviours and liaising with social workers, schools, police, and health workers to ensure their needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure the home and ensure safety during night hours.
- Provide a friendly and supportive presence for children who wake during the night.
- Engage in one‑to‑one work with children on feelings, emotions and behaviours.
- Coordinate with social workers, schools, police and health workers to meet children’s needs.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, observations and any actions taken.
- Assist with night and weekend duties, including up to 33% additional pay for weekend work.
