What You’ll Do

  • Develop and deliver Level 3 T Levels, Level 3 BTEC, Level 4 (HNC) and Level 5 (HND) modules, focusing on complex engineering principles, analytical methods and professional project management.
  • Align classroom delivery with current UK professional standards, ensuring Higher National students are work‑ready for management and specialist technical positions.
  • Monitor student progress and provide guidance to ensure timely achievement, while developing industry links that offer valuable work experience and enrichment.
  • Work as a motivated team player within the Rotherham Campus team, using practical, theoretical and digital methods to bring complex engineering concepts to life.

Key Characteristics

  • Technical expert: holds a Level 4 or above vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering (or a closely related field) with significant industry experience.
  • Educator: ideally holds a teaching qualification and assessor award; if not, support will be provided to obtain them.
  • Communicator: possesses excellent interpersonal skills and can work effectively with colleagues and management to meet strategic goals.
  • Mentor: dedicated to student progression, offering advice and guidance to help learners navigate their career routes.

Your Qualifications

  • Level 4 or above vocational qualification in electrical engineering (or equivalent).
  • Teaching qualification and assessor award (or the drive and willingness to work towards them while on the job).
  • Level 2 English and Maths (or commitment to achieve these with our support).

Department Info

You will never be working in a silo. Based at our Rotherham campus, you’ll be a vital part of a dedicated curriculum team. You will be supported by a Curriculum Manager and work daily with Curriculum Team Leaders who understand the nuances of construction education. You’ll also collaborate with a wide range of professionals – including technicians, work placement officers and personal development coordinators – all dedicated to one thing: the success of our learners.
