Due to internal progression, we’re looking for a Senior New Product Development Manager to lead the design, development and delivery of innovative supporter products and experiences that inspire people to engage, participate, advocate and give.
Working with insight, creativity and evidence, you’ll identify new opportunities, develop compelling propositions and help grow support and income by turning great ideas into scalable solutions that deliver meaningful impact.
The National Trust’s commitment is “For everyone, for ever.” Bringing that promise to life starts with the people that work here. It means building teams with a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures and experiences, creating an inclusive environment where everyone is able to thrive. Our positions are open to all, and we welcome applications from all backgrounds to support our ambitions of reflecting the communities we serve and ending unequal access.
We’re open to discussing part‑time and flexible working patterns.
What it’s like to work here
You’ll join a collaborative and ambitious directorate focused on growing support for nature, beauty and heritage. Working with colleagues from across marketing, digital, fundraising, membership and operational teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping future supporter experiences and developing products that help more people connect with our cause.
As this is a national role, there is flexibility on your contractual place of work. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Member & Supporters Director, you’ll lead the end‑to‑end development of new supporter products and experiences, from identifying opportunities through to testing, evaluation and launch.
You’ll build a pipeline of innovation opportunities informed by audience insight and market trends, securing stakeholder support and investment to bring ideas to life. You’ll work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure products are customer‑centred, inclusive and commercially effective, while establishing clear measures of success, monitoring performance and using data and feedback to continually improve outcomes.
You’ll also oversee financial performance, business cases, governance and compliance requirements, ensuring new products are delivered responsibly and sustainably before transitioning them into business‑as‑usual operations.
Who we’re looking for
- Experience in product or service development within a purpose‑led, customer‑focused or social impact environment.
- Experience leading insight‑led innovation and applying design thinking, agile or similar approaches to develop successful products and services.
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and translate them into actionable plans and outcomes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence at senior levels across organisations.
- An inclusive and collaborative leadership style, creating an environment where diverse perspectives are valued, people feel they belong, and barriers to participation, development and progression are addressed.
The package
The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
