Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our dynamic team at Northampton General Hospital. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive ophthalmic care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye conditions

Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including registrars and SHOs
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit, research, and quality improvement projects

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Engage in continuing professional development to stay abreast of advancements in ophthalmology
Experience in performing a wide range of ophthalmic surgical procedures
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to maintaining clinical skills
Desirable Skills
- Sub-speciality interest or experience in areas such as cataract surgery, vitreoretinal surgery, or oculoplastics

Involvement in research or clinical audit within ophthalmology
- Leadership experience within a clinical setting
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data protection regulations
- Participation in regular appraisals and revalidation processes
