Mechanical Supervisor (Plumbing)

Location: HMP Woodhill‑Tattenhoe Street, Milton Keynes – MK4 4DA

Salary: £46,775.42

Contract: Full time / Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage plumbing teams within a secure high‑security prison environment.
  • Co‑ordinate work with other trades including electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners and administrators.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance and adherence to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Plan, schedule and execute plumbing and heating projects and maintenance activities.
  • Use strong organisational, time‑management and people skills to deliver efficient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
  • City & Guilds 6009/Q1014058 – Mechanical Engineering Services: Plumbing (Domestic)
  • BPEC Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating
  • City & Guilds 6189 – Plumbing and Domestic Heating
  • City & Guilds 6032 – Advanced Craft Certificate in Plumbing
  • City & Guilds 5962 – Certificate in Plumbing (Advanced Craft)
  • City & Guilds 6019 – Mechanical Engineering Services (Plumbing)
  • City & Guilds 6288‑31 – Heating and Ventilating Craftsperson (Industrial & Commercial)
  • ETA Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance
  • City & Guilds 6188 – Heating and Ventilating
  • City & Guilds 6088 – Certificate in Heating and Ventilating
  • City & Guilds 6018 – Heating and Ventilation Installation
  • City & Guilds 214 – Engineering Systems Maintenance
  • A minimum of five years’ experience, ideally within an FM environment and/or secure, military, health or similar sectors.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water or building service systems.
  • Good health & safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
  • Rounded knowledge of risk, compliance and demonstrable planning and project management skills.
