Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a long established company based in Medway Towns for a Multi-skilled Operator/ Team Leader to join their manufacturing team on a permanent basis.

You will be managing a diverse department, overseeing the manufacture, inspection, and assembly of wax patterns within the casting department, producing components.

This is a hands‑on leadership role that combines team management, problem‑solving, and practical production support. You will play a key role in ensuring the department consistently delivers exceptional standards of safety, quality, productivity, and performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of 15+ employees operating across a 24‑hour manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure production requirements are achieved while maintaining quality standards and delivery schedules.
  • Promote a positive culture focused on safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Process Improvement Team to drive efficiency and productivity enhancements.
  • Manage pressure injection tooling requirements and ensure production readiness.
  • Support day‑to‑day production activities including injection, extrusion, inspection and assembly.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Lead daily meetings, driving performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Continuous Improvement.

Administration & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standards and company procedures.
  • Complete production bookings using the touchscreen data management system.
  • Maintain accurate route cards and production records.
  • Maintain staffing records.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience leading or supervising a team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with high‑quality engineering or precision manufacturing standards.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and monitoring skills.
  • Basic IT competency.
  • A hands‑on approach with the willingness to support production activities when required.

Hours of Work

Monday-Thursday 10:00‑18:30 and Friday 10:00‑18:30 (48 per week). Flexibility will be required to support night shift handovers on an ad‑hoc basis.
