A leading UK technology innovator is seeking a Senior Electronics / Firmware Engineer to join their growing R&D team in Warwick. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you will contribute directly to the design and development of cutting‑edge electronic and embedded systems powering an innovative range of measurement products.

You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering environment spanning electronics hardware, embedded software, cloud/backend systems, and mobile applications—playing a key role in shaping both current and next‑generation products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design robust electronic products from concept through to production, developing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges
  • Take a hands‑on role in hardware and firmware development activities
  • Oversee PCB design and layout, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and manufacturable solutions
  • Develop and define test plans for hardware verification and production testing
  • Support environmental, reliability, and EMC testing during product qualification
  • Perform circuit analysis including power consumption, component tolerance, and system reliability
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to capture, refine, and implement design requirements
  • Contribute to design‑for‑manufacture, design‑for‑test, and product reliability strategies (DFx)
  • Proven experience delivering digital electronics designs from concept to production
  • Strong understanding of microprocessor‑based, battery‑powered embedded systems
  • Hands‑on experience with embedded C on microcontrollers
  • Familiarity with PCB design and layout processes
  • Knowledge of standard communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, USB)
  • Experience with test, verification, and validation techniques across the product lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of hardware engineering principles with exposure to embedded software development
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines
  • Full product lifecycle development and ownership
  • Experience with Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi enabled battery‑powered devices
  • Exposure to environmental and EMC testing during certification
  • Experience with production test development and manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of analogue electronics design
  • Familiarity with mechanical/industrial design or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience supporting certification processes (CE, FCC, ISED)
