Yard Operative – Exeter Full Time £12.71 per hour Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm | Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm ExeterLooking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same?Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business in Exeter for a Yard Operative to join their busy depot team. If you enjoy working outdoors, like keeping active, and take pride in a job well done, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.You’ll play a key role in keeping the operation running smoothly, ensuring equipment is prepared, checked and ready to be delivered to customers across the region.
What you’ll be doing
- Loading and unloading equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspecting equipment to ensure it meets quality standards before dispatch and on return.
- Checking delivery and collection paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Maintaining a tidy, organised and safe yard at all times.
- Working closely with the depot team to keep stock levels accurate.
- Assisting with regular stock takes and reporting any discrepancies.
- Delivering excellent customer service when dealing with drivers and visitors.
- Following all Health & Safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
What we’re looking forWe’re looking for someone who enjoys practical work and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.Ideally, you’ll have:
- Experience in a yard, warehouse, production or industrial environment (preferred but not essential).
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A strong awareness of health and safety.
- Good attention to detail.
- The ability to work well as part of a close-knit team.
- A reliable and hardworking approach.
