Assistant Technician

Position Overview

Assistant Technician (full‑time). Permanent position starting August 2026 at the Clinical Skills Resource Centre, part of the Research Division at the University of Exeter.

Salary: from £28,029 on Grade C, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operational delivery of technical services support to the Clinical Skills Resource Centre.
• Provide technical support to staff and students in a complex research laboratory environment.
• Work independently, using initiative to tackle problems, manage workload, set priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Maintain health and safety standards and laboratory best‑practice compliance.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Exceptional communication and time‑management skills.
• Experience providing technical support in a research laboratory.
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
• Knowledge and experience of working within a Health & Safety role and laboratory environment.
