Chemistry Teacher
Full‑time maternity contract for one term starting September 2026.
The Role
Teach General Science and Chemistry for KS3–KS4 in a supportive, dynamic Science Department with a Mathematics & Science specialism. Work in 15 modern, well‑equipped laboratories, use computers and mobile wireless laptops with data‑logging facilities, and support the school’s science‑information technology initiatives.
At KS3, deliver a solid foundation in the Science National Curriculum. At KS4, contribute to the GCSE curriculum, including Separate Sciences and BTEC in applied science.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess chemistry and science lessons for KS3–KS4.
- Use ICT effectively in teaching and assessment.
- Act as a Form Tutor, meeting the department’s expectations for student welfare.
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues, parents and students.
- Ensure accurate administration and meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Attributes
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Science specialism (Chemistry).
- Proactive and engaging teaching approach.
- Understanding of requirements for high‑quality teaching.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and administration skills.
