Prospero Newcastle are looking for an experienced educator to work as a tutor for a young person who has been permanently excluded from their education placement. The student is 12 years old, neurodiverse, and struggles with mental health. This role requires empathy, creativity, patience, and a commitment to support a vulnerable individual in reintegrating into a school setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Build rapport with the young person
- Complete baseline assessments
- Mark sessional attendance
- Complete weekly reports
- Develop an individual learning plan
Teaching Focus
Mathematics and English, emphasizing reintegration into a school environment. Tuition typically consists of 6 hours per week, divided into three 2‑hour sessions, though full or part‑time hours can be arranged.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate, registered with the online update service, or willingness to complete a new application
- References covering the last two years of employment
- Commitment to the placement duration
