Job Overview
Senior Logistics Programme Manager reporting to the Head of Logistics Planning. Lead the definition, development and delivery of Supply Chain Execution capabilities across the SMR programme, manage a team of about 15, oversee a £100million budget, and drive logistics integration across manufacturing, construction and engineering for power‑plant delivery.
Responsibilities
- Capture and define Supply Chain Execution system requirements and align them to digital delivery solutions.
- Map, integrate and optimise all end‑to‑end logistics processes across the programme.
- Drive logistics planning inputs, including cost estimates, schedules, risk profiles and freight strategies for customer programmes.
- Act as a key interface with customers, supporting current and future delivery programmes with logistics expertise.
- Establish governance and reporting for cost, schedule and performance (including integration into programme controls such as P6).
- Design and enable control tower capability through robust, real‑time data flows across suppliers and logistics partners.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and international trade regulations.
- Build, lead and develop a high‑performing logistics team.
- Collaborate with SMEs and external partners (including 3PL/4PL providers) to ensure seamless execution.
- Drive continuous improvement and future‑proof logistics solutions beyond current industry standards.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in logistics and supply chain management within complex, large‑scale programmes.
- Deep understanding of Supply Chain Execution systems and how digital solutions enable end‑to‑end optimisation.
- Experience delivering logistics strategies across manufacturing, infrastructure or major project environments.
- Strong leadership capability, with experience building and leading high‑performing teams.
- Proven ability to operate across customer, technical and commercial interfaces.
- Experience with planning and control frameworks (e.g. S&OE).
- Strong programme governance, reporting and risk management capability.
- Ability to define and implement integrated supply chain processes, including collaboration with logistics partners (3PL/4PL).
- Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) with a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Experience in infrastructure, construction, manufacturing or regulated industries (nuclear desirable).
Location & Ways of Working
Hybrid working arrangements with the primary office in Derby, Warrington or Manchester. The role can be based at any Rolls‑Royce SMR UK location.
