Youth Development Officer

The Tannahill Centre is a community facility located at the heart of Ferguslie Park.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, support and work with young people in an empowering way so they can participate in volunteering and active citizenship activities that increase their skills, knowledge and confidence.
• Support young people both in groups and on a one-to-one basis, enabling them to develop personal development plans and participate in experiential learning and accredited opportunities.
• Lead and coordinate youth work provision and school holiday provision within the Tannahill Centre.
• Manage youth work staff and volunteers.
• Develop new opportunities for young people.
• Strengthen partnerships that support positive youth development.
• Identify funding opportunities and develop partnerships to grow youth work provision with the aim of expanding the service to a six-day-per-week youth work programme and increasing opportunities for young people across Ferguslie Park.
