Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Locum Dispenser to join a friendly GP Surgery in Diss for a 3-month temporary block booking across June, July, and August.

Location: Diss IP22

Duration: June – August (3 month booking)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 6:00pm

Dispenser qualification: NVQ level 2 Dispensing

Excellent rates of pay

Potential for extension beyond the initial booking

Responsibilities

• Issuing prescriptions as required from discharge letters and tasks from doctors
• Issuing repeat prescriptions as required from tasks from doctors and online, requests from patients
• Sorting and counting prescriptions
• Dispensing medication as required and checking dispensed bags against signed prescriptions
• Production of dosset boxes and checking they are correct and complete prior to collection/delivery
• Order, record, dispense and dispose of controlled drugs as required by the relevant standard operating procedure
• Improving profitability by accurate ordering of stock to ensure best value and to minimise the risk of out of date stock
• Unpacking deliveries, checking invoices, checking for out of date stock and stacking shelves
• Ensuring a high level of hygiene throughout the dispensary and that equipment is kept clean and in good working order

Supporting Patient Service

• Promoting excellence in customer service and offering appropriate information and advice to patients and their carers
• Take payment when required
• Receiving and making telephone calls as required – divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery
