Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Mental Health Support Worker to join the St Ives/St Neots Older People’s Community Mental Health Team. The post holder will work within St Ives, Huntingdon, St Neots, and surrounding areas, supporting older adults with functional and organic mental illness such as depression, dementia, and psychosis.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with care coordinators to implement care plans and manage risk.
  • Deliver recovery‑focused care as part of a multidisciplinary community team, including in nursing homes, residential homes and patients’ own homes.
  • Provide high standard clinical care in line with NICE guidance and statutory frameworks.
  • Prevent hospital admissions and support carers to prevent burnout.
  • Manage delegated tasks for service users under supervision of a registered mental health practitioner.
  • Support clinical staff in the delivery of clinical practice.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in supporting people with mental illness, ideally in older adults.
  • Proactive, imaginative, and highly motivated to make a difference.
