Mental Health Support Worker – West Yorkshire

Job reference: RES:LHPT1339.0. Location: Lyndhurst Residential Service, Liversedge, West Yorkshire. Contract: Permanent, Part Time, 26 hours per week. Salary: £26,227.50 – £27,378 per annum (pro rata for part‑time hours). Hours may include weekends and bank holidays.

Essential requirements of a Support Worker

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Your role will involve working with young people to promote independence through support with education, household tasks, and general life skills. You will update online care records, administer medication, and maintain general upkeep and tidiness of the home.

The role requires patience and resilience when supporting young people with mental health diagnoses, including personality disorder, disordered eating, and self‑harm. You will help them improve relationships with food, manage self‑harm incidents, and support transitions to community life, including medication administration, education re‑engagement, and independent transport to appointments.

In addition, you will participate in in‑house activities such as arts/crafts, baking, cooking, board games, and community outings (beach trips, shopping, bowling, walking, concerts, cinema).

Previous care experience is not essential; full training is provided. You will receive ongoing support and mentoring from the residential and clinical team.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Care) – preferred but not mandatory.

Experience
