What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the delivery of all hard FM and engineering services across the Shell Centre estate.
• Provide strategic leadership across planned, reactive and project‑related activities.
• Drive technical compliance, governance and statutory obligations.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary technical teams and specialist functions.
• Shape long‑term asset management and lifecycle strategies.
• Influence capital planning and investment decisions.
• Drive engineering optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement digital technologies, predictive maintenance and data‑led maintenance strategies.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and key decision makers.
• Champion innovation and create a high‑performing engineering culture.
• Work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors and delivery partners to minimise business disruption and deliver exceptional outcomes.
• Ensure all technical services are delivered safely, compliantly and cost‑effectively.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an exceptional engineering leader who combines technical expertise, commercial acumen and strategic thinking.

• A recognised Engineering qualification and professional engineering background.
• Significant experience leading technical services within complex, critical or high‑profile environments.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, engineering governance and technical risk management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing specialist subcontractors.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Commercial awareness, including budget management and contract performance.
• Experience developing asset management and reliability strategies.
• A passion for continuous improvement, innovation and engineering excellence.
• The ability to lead change and embed new ways of working.

Professional Accreditations

Professional accreditation such as CEng, IEng, MIET, MCIBSE or equivalent would be advantageous.

• Corporate headquarters
• Energy and utilities
• Critical environments and data centres
• Banking and financial services
• Pharmaceutical or laboratory environments
• Large outsourced FM contracts with complex stakeholder relationships
