Job Overview

We are advertising a post for Healthcare assistant/Therapy assistant within the South Lakes Rapid Response and Virtual Ward team. This role offers an opportunity to develop and build on your existing skill set within the community healthcare sector.

We provide a 2‑hour community response mandate across the South Lakes locality. The team supports medical crises to prevent hospital admission and provides a safe alternative to hospital for patients through community‑based acute health and care delivery, including safe discharge and rehabilitation towards independence.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Healthcare/therapy assistant, you will work closely under guidance from a multidisciplinary team of Medics, consultant practitioners, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners, and other Therapy Assistants, supporting the implementation of delegated interventions across nursing and therapy and activities of daily living.

Examples of duties include venepuncture (blood sampling), taking clinical observations, fitting equipment, and supporting administration of medications. Your work will be essential and rewarding as you support our frail population to remain in their own homes.

You will receive full training and support from an experienced multidisciplinary team.
