Our thriving, multidisciplinary Water Engineering team in the Southeast is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing teams within St Albans, Croydon, London Aldgate & Basingstoke offices.
We are delivering an exciting portfolio of water programmes and projects through long‑term frameworks with key clients including major UK water companies such as Thames Water, Affinity Water, and Southern Water, Tier 1 contractors and international projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate: Work closely with our teams of engineers, hydraulic modellers, environmental scientists, and technical specialists to deliver a wide range of projects within the UK and overseas to a high level of quality. Liaise with clients to develop scope, price proposals and communicate project progress.
- Deliver: Produce feasibility studies, outline designs, detailed designs, reports and technical specifications.
- Leadership: Undertake line manager responsibilities for junior staff, providing guidance and management to them as well as completing performance evaluations for those assigned.
- Quality: Ensure compliance of design with all applicable standards and regulations and provide technical expertise for interdisciplinary analytical studies.
Qualifications
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Proven experience within the water sector at the Senior level.
- Chartered or Incorporated with a relevant institution such as ICE or CIWEM, or working towards chartered status.
- Experience of undertaking engineering assessments, options appraisals, engineering calculations and/or economic appraisals.
- Experience of outline and/or detailed design, preferably of wastewater/water treatment schemes and/or flood risk management/assessment or drainage schemes.
