British Sign Language Support Assistant (Level 2) – Gateshead

We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring BSL Support Assistant to work with children and young people with hearing impairments across educational settings throughout Gateshead.
By providing communication support and promoting inclusion, you’ll help pupils overcome barriers, participate fully in school life and develop the confidence to achieve their ambitions.

Key duties:
- Communicate using British Sign Language
- Support pupils in lessons and school activities
- Encourage social engagement and emotional wellbeing
- Help create inclusive learning environments
- Work collaboratively with educational professionals
Essential requirements:
- Level 2 BSL qualification
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Passion for supporting children and young people
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
