Overview
Horizon Care and Education is looking for a peripatetic teacher to join our Alternative Learning Pathway (HALP) team at Woodbury School, Wolverhampton.
HALP supports and engages young people for whom learning in a school environment is not appropriate. We deliver short‑to‑medium term, personalised learning programmes nationally, combining direct home tutoring, mentoring and online learning for pupils aged 8‑25.
Responsibilities
- Visit children to deliver one‑to‑one education in the community.
- Attend meetings and training at the school and, when required, cover lessons or provide support in school.
- Build and maintain excellent educational relationships with students.
- Focus on the individual learning needs of students who have struggled in a school environment.
- Ensure you are a registered car owner/driver, as travel to home or community settings is required.
Qualifications
- QTS or QTLS.
- Proven teaching and learning experience.
- Up‑to‑date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge.

- Energy, passion and drive to create exciting and engaging lessons.
- Strong initiative, vision, excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Experience and passion for working with students with SEN/SEMH in a 1‑1 or small‑group setting.
