About The Role

Pay Details: TMS/UPS £33,731 – £51,920

Hours of Work / Weeks per year / Working Pattern: 32.5 hours Term Time

The Headteacher and Governing Body of St Andrews Major C/W Primary School are seeking to appoint an innovative and energetic classroom practitioner to join the teaching team of our successful school. We welcome applications from teachers who embrace the principles of the Curriculum for Wales and demonstrate high‑quality teaching strategies to provide the very best opportunities for our learners. About You

You will need:

  • Be passionate about education, with the commitment and drive to help every pupil succeed, fostering strong, supportive relationships and understanding individual learning needs.
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner, with a clear understanding of high‑quality teaching and learning, able to inspire, nurture, and challenge pupils of all abilities.
  • Set and maintain high expectations for both achievement and behaviour, with a strong determination to raise standards and promote pupil wellbeing.
  • Have up‑to‑date knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales and be proactive in engaging in professional learning and collaborative development to enhance teaching practice.
  • Deliver creative, engaging, and high‑quality learning experiences using a range of innovative approaches that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Embed effective Assessment for Learning (AfL) strategies to assess progress, set targets, and use data to inform and support pupil achievement.
  • Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic attitude towards all aspects of school life and be a role model for pupils.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, building strong relationships with colleagues, governors, parents, and other stakeholders.
