Overview

Rutherford Cross is working with a growing, PE-backed business in Glasgow to appoint a Senior Finance Contractor on a 6-month interim basis. This role has been created to provide hands‑on support across financial accounting and transactional finance, while also driving process improvement and automation across reporting and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the financial accounting function, including statutory accounts and external audit support
• Maintain robust financial controls and documentation across accounting processes
• Review and support transactional finance activities, identifying inefficiencies and control gaps
• Enhance and automate management reporting, reducing manual processes
• Deliver practical process and system improvements in collaboration with the wider finance team
• Support finance projects aligned to ERP change and operational improvement

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience, with a strong background in industry
• Comfortable operating in hands on interim roles
• Proven experience improving manual or inefficient finance processes
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems
• Pragmatic, proactive and able to add value quickly
