Software Developer FTC M/F

Salary: £43,000 – 75,000 per year

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5-10 years experience in software development; experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment is advantageous.
• Strong experience developing applications using Microsoft Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.
• Proven experience developing solutions using C#, .NET, JavaScript, PHP, PowerShell, and SQL Server technologies.
• Strong SQL Server database development and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience administering and supporting IIS web servers.
• Experience troubleshooting complex software, integration, and database issues.
• Experience with Tableau or equivalent business intelligence and reporting platforms.
• Understanding of software security principles, vulnerability remediation, and patch management.
• Experience working with source control systems and software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Exposure to manufacturing systems, MES, ERP, or digital manufacturing technologies would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications supporting manufacturing and business operations.
• Develop solutions using C#, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, PowerShell, and associated technologies.
• Manage and support Microsoft SQL Server databases, including query development, optimisation, and troubleshooting.
• Support application hosting environments, including IIS administration and configuration.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application, database, and integration issues in a timely manner.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Contribute to software architecture, coding standards, and development best practices.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives through vulnerability remediation, patch management, and secure coding practices.
• Participate in the implementation and support of reporting and analytics solutions, including Tableau.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, support documentation, and operational procedures.
• Support our Digital Operations strategy through technology and process improvement initiatives.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
