Team Manager – Child Protection
Location: Stoke-on-TrentJob type: Day to Day CoverDuration: 3–6 months with potential for extension based on performance
We are looking to recruit a Team Manager – Child Protection within the Social Care industry in Stoke.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in children and families work, including statutory child protection
- Literacy and numeracy to the required level
- DipSW or CQSW equivalent
- Post-qualification supervision of social workers or students
- Basic training in management competencies
- Children Act/Child Protection training
Knowledge
- Child care legislation, relevant guidance, regulations and best practice standards
- Family Court procedures
- DOH Guidance, Working Together to Safeguard Children and Assessment Framework
- Issues arising from child abuse inquiries
- SSD responsibilities in relation to children and families
- Health and safety policies and procedures
Responsibilities and Skills
- Plan, manage and review service delivery
- Recruit, manage and develop staff
- Manage change and stress in self and others
- Produce written and verbal reports to required standards
- Develop and maintain appropriate recording systems, and train others to do so
- Work in multi-agency contexts and collaborate with families
- Chair meetings involving service users and professionals
- Analyse data and make decisions, delegating tasks appropriately
- Organise effectively
- Budget management
- Maintain professional boundaries with colleagues and service users, ensuring team members do the same
