Business Support Manager (Psychology)

Company: NHS Highland
Apply for the Business Support Manager (Psychology)
Location: Inverness
Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Support Manager to join our Psychology Services Department and play a vital role in shaping its strategic and operational success within NHS Highland.

Working closely with the Senior Service Manager (Psychology), the Director of Psychology and the Associate Directors of Psychology, you will be instrumental in contributing to and implementing key policies across the department. You will also lead specific programmes of work, create and implement systems and processes, drive efficiency and innovation, and oversee a small but dedicated administrative team.

We are looking for a highly organised, pragmatic and self‑motivated manager with the ability to influence at all levels and build strong, cross‑organisation relationships. Your extensive background in business and marketing will be invaluable in designing and implementing systems and processes that enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.

In this role, you will have the autonomy to manage your workload with minimal supervision, prioritise tasks and make operational decisions that support the Psychology Department’s growth and success.

While certain responsibilities follow established procedures, you will have ample opportunity to use your initiative, solve problems creatively and drive continuous improvement.

Experience in line management, project management and change management, particularly within a healthcare setting, will be a distinct advantage, as will a positive, proactive approach to work. Although this role does not carry budgetary responsibility, a working knowledge of finance and accounting would be beneficial.

This is a hybrid location role; you will be expected to regularly work from a mixture of home and Inverness area office locations.
