Solutions Architect

Salary: £75,000 – 85,000 per year

Requirements

• Solution Architecture experience with a focus on E-commerce platforms or API/Middleware ecosystems.
• Expert-level knowledge of Node.js, Java (Spring Boot), and PostgreSQL with the ability to critique vendor code.
• Deep proficiency in API management patterns, Webhook integrations, and Event-Driven Architecture using Kafka or Azure Event Hubs.
• Demonstrable experience migrating legacy monolithic systems into containerised microservices architectures.
• Proficient in Visio or LucidChart for architectural modelling and disciplined in Confluence for documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) for DTS, EPOS, and other strategic workstreams.
• Conduct structured audits of vendor-submitted code and architecture, enforcing the Stable-by-Design framework.
• Orchestrate complex data mapping between legacy IBM iSeries (DB2/RPG) systems and modern API middleware.
• Lead investigations into recurring platform failures and deliver long-term structural remediation.
• Maintain high-quality architecture documentation in Confluence, ensuring it is versioned and accessible to operational teams.
