Overview

Our dedicated Housing Team has a strong track record of helping customers and partners prevent homelessness across our districts, and we are now looking for three full‑time Housing Move On & Floating Support Advisors to make a real difference.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to individuals and families to reduce their reliance on temporary accommodation and, where possible, prevent the need for it altogether.
  • Empower customers into tenancies in both the private and social rented housing sectors.
  • Offer tenancy sustainment support after move‑on to promote long‑term stability.
  • Make decisions, assess risks, and apply housing legislation to support vulnerable households while protecting revenue streams.
  • Collaborate with Housing Management, Income Officers, Housing & Benefits Advisors, Benefits, Revenues, Early Help, Finance, Legal Services, Safeguarding, Customer Services and external support agencies.
  • Conduct regular visits to TA properties, following lone working protocols and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Handle emotionally challenging situations with resilience and self‑awareness.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proactive, well‑organised with strong decision‑making and risk‑awareness.
  • Solid understanding of housing legislation and tenancy law.
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills with residents, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Adaptable and able to navigate complex situations in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Resilience, self‑awareness, and ability to work under pressure.

Working Conditions
