Placements Officer

Social Care Placements Officers will play a pivotal role in securing, coordinating and monitoring placements for our children in care. You will work closely with social workers, providers and partner agencies to ensure that placements are safe, suitable, cost effective and responsive to the assessed needs of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with social workers, providers and partner agencies to ensure placements are safe, suitable and cost effective.
• Collaborate with teams to secure, coordinate and monitor placements for children in care.
• Challenge poor practice, support colleagues and providers, and help ensure children receive the highest standard of care.

Qualifications and expectations

• Experience working in social care, commissioning, placement finding or a related setting.
• Strong negotiation skills and effective decision making in fast paced environments.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to build strong relationships and maintain compliance with statutory duties, policies and procedures.
• Dynamic, solution focused and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children.
