Consultant in Orthodontics
Post: Consultant in Orthodontics.
Salary: £111,430 – £148,064.
Hours: 24 hpw (6 sessions per week).
Base: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Glasgow Dental Hospital. The post is primarily based at DGRI with occasional clinical commitments at Galloway Community Hospital in Stranraer.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive diagnostic and advisory services for patients referred to the Orthodontic Department at DGRI.
- Focus on the interdisciplinary management of dentofacial/craniofacial conditions and hypodontia cases, working closely with colleagues across specialties to deliver high‑quality patient care.
- Contribute to the effective functioning of the department and support the professional supervision and development of Training Grade staff.
- Assume the role of Clinical Lead for the Managed Clinical Network (MCN) in Orthodontics across Dumfries and Galloway, incorporating two specialist practices in Dumfries and one in Ayr.
Qualifications
- Fully registered with the GMC and included on the Specialist Register for Orthodontics (or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of interview).
