Role Title
Senior Quantity Surveyor/Estimator
Role Purpose
Lead and manage tendering and quantity surveying activities, producing accurate cost estimates and ensuring effective financial control across projects while meeting strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage tenders, cost estimates, and Bills of Quantities (up to £5M)
- Coordinate bid processes and ensure compliant, high-quality submissions
- Manage Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and financial forecasts
- Prepare interim applications, valuations, and final accounts
- Negotiate with supply chain to achieve best value
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and opportunities
- Liaise with stakeholders to agree tender figures and maintain relationships
- Support business growth through innovation and process improvement
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Essential Criteria
- HNC/Degree in Construction (or equivalent experience)
- Proven estimating and quantity surveying experience (refurb & new build)
- Strong knowledge of tendering, procurement, and bid management
- Experience managing project financials (CVRs, forecasts, reporting)
- Good understanding of NEC/JCT contracts and measurement methods
- Advanced Excel and MS Office skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
- Full UK driving licence and CSCS card
