Maintenance Engineer

Location: HamptonShift: 2pm-10pm Monday to Friday

We’re working with a well‑established manufacturing business looking to add a Maintenance Engineer to their growing team. This is a hands‑on role focused on keeping production and site services running safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You’ll play a key part in minimising downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring all maintenance activities meet both operational and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules.
• Respond to and resolve breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and repair production machinery and building services equipment.
• Support continuous improvement and engineering projects.
• Ensure all maintenance work is accurately recorded on internal systems.
• Manage and source spare parts within budget constraints.
• Work closely with production and leadership teams to maintain output and quality.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong fault‑finding and root cause analysis skills.
• The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Experience working with planned maintenance systems (CMMS/CPPM).
• A proactive, team‑focused approach with strong communication skills.

Preferred Engineering Qualifications

• City & Guilds (P2/P3)
• ONC / HNC in Engineering
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Time‑served apprenticeship
• Ideally 3 years’ experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement is beneficial.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and maintenance systems.
