Maintenance Engineer
Location: HamptonShift: 2pm-10pm Monday to Friday
We’re working with a well‑established manufacturing business looking to add a Maintenance Engineer to their growing team. This is a hands‑on role focused on keeping production and site services running safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You’ll play a key part in minimising downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring all maintenance activities meet both operational and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules.
- Respond to and resolve breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
- Maintain and repair production machinery and building services equipment.
- Support continuous improvement and engineering projects.
- Ensure all maintenance work is accurately recorded on internal systems.
- Manage and source spare parts within budget constraints.
- Work closely with production and leadership teams to maintain output and quality.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong fault‑finding and root cause analysis skills.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Experience working with planned maintenance systems (CMMS/CPPM).
- A proactive, team‑focused approach with strong communication skills.
Preferred Engineering Qualifications
- City & Guilds (P2/P3)
- ONC / HNC in Engineering
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Time‑served apprenticeship
- Ideally 3 years’ experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement is beneficial.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and maintenance systems.
