Job Description
We are looking for a Support Worker to work with adults with learning disabilities in a day service in Lewes. No previous experience is required – just a desire to make a difference. You will give practical assistance during timetabled activities, support friendships, independence skills, community involvement, personal hygiene, and emotional wellbeing.
Full‑time salary: £25,989 to £26,403 per annum (£13.50 to £13.72 per hour). 37 hours per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (service closed on Thursdays). You may work two long days (8:30am‑7pm) and two standard days (either 8:30am‑4pm or 11:30am‑7pm) on a rotating basis. The role includes supporting groups within the service and community to take part in planned learning, health and wellbeing activities.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate timetabled activities and promote friendships
- Teach independence skills and assist with personal care, medication administration and other health‑related tasks
- Support clients during meals and personal hygiene routines
- Provide emotional support to promote health and mental wellbeing
- Record information accurately and maintain client progress documentation
Qualifications & requirements
- Can converse with clients and advocates; comfortable in a team and independently
- Must be willing to support with personal care, medication and health‑related tasks
- Has or can gain RQF Level 1 in Maths and English or be able to pass assessment as part of the selection process

Additional Information
Position requires an Enhanced DBS check or an Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services. Overseas police checks may be required if you have lived or worked abroad.
Starting salary will be pro rata if part‑time or term‑time only.
