Connected talent are delighted to be recruiting for a community Engagement Co Coordinator. This role will be based in Woking, located in the northwest of Surrey, England. Woking is at the southwestern edge of the Greater London Urban Area and is part of the London commuter belt, with frequent trains and a journey time of approximately 24 minutes to Waterloo station. Woking is 23 miles (37 km) southwest of Charing Cross in central London.

Job Description

We are looking for a multi-skilled, committed, and motivated professional to co‑coordinate our community engagement programme.

  • Co‑coordinate community events that build relationships with the wider community while supporting our business goals and increasing brand awareness.
  • Ensure that events are marketed through web content, social media, and email marketing.
  • Forge working relationships with local authorities, media, and other stakeholders to deliver messages confidently, regularly, and accurately.
  • Present feedback on events to line management.
  • Liaise and assist employment partners such as Job Centre Plus and other government ministries.
  • Direct initiatives to find entry‑level roles for long‑term unemployed in the local community.
  • Deliver local training initiatives in conjunction with community stakeholders.
  • Attend careers fairs and employment days at schools and colleges to promote the company and the construction sector.
  • Contribute to national award schemes related to the company’s community engagement programme.
  • Assist with ongoing compliance with the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

Working conditions: This is a demanding role requiring a flexible approach to working hours. The role is based in the Woking office and the successful candidate will be expected to travel to construction sites, company fixed locations, or other locations as requested by management.

Qualifications

Qualifications and requirements

  • Good standard of education (GCSE Maths, English).
  • Full driving licence.
  • Experience working in a customer‑facing environment.
  • Knowledge, interest or experience of the construction industry or a proven track record within a similar complex and challenging sector.
  • Experience of public speaking, delivering training, and engaging with the public.
  • Good career continuity.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and database software.

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Professional qualification such as CIOB, RICS, or APM.

  • Good communication skills, able to articulate messages clearly and concisely in an engaging style.
  • Excellent attention to detail and meticulous planning skills.
  • Strong IT skills.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in high‑pressure situations.
