Class 1 & 2 Driver

Class 1 HGV Driver – Night Shift (Crewe)

Gi Group is recruiting Class 1 HGV Drivers to work for a well‑known delivery company, based in Crewe. Two night shift patterns are available:

• Nights 1 – Sunday to Wednesday: 4 nights, start time either 21:00 or 23:00
• Nights 2 – Tuesday to Friday: 4 nights, start time either 21:00 or 23:00

All newly passed drivers are accepted.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle checks
• Manage multi‑drop/bulk collections and deliveries
• Secure loads
• Perform multi‑drop palletised delivery from depot to depot (4–5 drops), loading and unloading vehicle using tail lift and either a manual or electric pump truck
• Prioritise workload to meet time commitments

Required Skills

• Enthusiastic, reliable, and punctual
• Positive attitude to work and to learn new skills
• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD/IN/DR/DN/TT endorsement codes)
• Hold a valid, in‑date tachograph and CPC
• Read, write and communicate in English to comply with health and safety requirements
• Good customer‑service skills
• Good understanding of driver hours, regulations and working time directive

Pay Rates

• Class 1: Night Shift – £19.27 (PAYE, includes advanced holiday pay)
• Class 2: Night Shift – £18.96 (PAYE, includes advanced holiday pay)
