Teaching Assistant – Primary School (L25)
We are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the L25 area. The role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children or young people with additional needs who is passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the class teacher and SEN team to provide tailored support to pupils in the classroom and through small group or one‑to‑one interventions.
- Support the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Encourage pupil engagement and promote positive behaviour.
- Create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and communicate observations with teaching staff.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure pupils receive the support they need to succeed.
Qualifications
- Recent experience supporting children or young people within a primary or secondary school, specialist SEND provision, residential children’s service, care setting, or youth work environment.
- Experience supporting children or young people with Autism, ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, challenging behaviour, Cerebral Palsy, complex needs, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or Severe Learning Difficulties.
- Patient, adaptable and committed to making a positive impact in education.
