The best engineering roles aren’t about maintaining systems, they’re about building the technology that changes how an entire business operates.
We’re partnering with a fast-growing investment firm that’s reached an inflection point. Having built a market-leading platform within its sector, the business is now investing heavily in engineering, data and AI to redefine how teams across the organisation work.
This isn’t another enterprise development role where you’re handed tickets from a backlog. You’ll work directly with investment, finance and operations teams, understand complex business problems first-hand, then design and build the software that solves them.
If you enjoy ownership, autonomy and solving difficult problems with modern technology, you’ll be in your element.
What you’ll actually be doing
You’ll lead projects from concept through to production, taking ownership of architecture, implementation and deployment.
That could mean:
- Building modern .NET applications from scratch
- Designing APIs and scalable backend services
- Developing cloud-native data platforms on Azure
- Introducing AI into engineering workflows and building intelligent internal tools
- Working directly with stakeholders rather than through layers of management
Every project has visible impact.
Why engineers join
Most software teams optimise existing products. This team is building the internal technology platform that powers an entire investment business.
That means you’ll gain exposure across:
- Software Engineering
- AI-enabled Development
- System Design
- Business Process Automation
It’s an environment where broad engineers thrive.
Technology
You’ll work across technologies including:
- C#
- .NET
- CI/CD
- Power BI
Alongside modern AI engineering tools including Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and AI agents to accelerate development.
We’re looking for someone who
- Enjoys owning technical problems from start to finish
- Writes clean, maintainable software
- Can move comfortably between backend, data and cloud engineering
- Likes working directly with users rather than sitting behind product managers
- Wants influence rather than simply responsibility
- Is naturally curious and always looking for better ways to build software
You’ll likely have experience with
- C# / .NET
- Building production applications
Experience within financial services is useful, but strong engineers from other complex technical environments are equally encouraged to apply.
Why this opportunity stands out
There are very few roles where you can genuinely influence the technology direction of an investment business while remaining deeply hands‑on. You’ll be joining during a period of significant growth, with the backing to modernise platforms, adopt AI‑first engineering practices and shape how technology is used across the organisation for years to come.
If you’re the type of engineer who gets bored maintaining legacy applications and would rather build the next generation of systems from the ground up, we’d like to speak with you.
