Role: Government Soft Landings Manager (REF 101297)

Contract Length: Until 31/03/27

Location: Hybrid / Bristol – Manchester, Birmingham or Glasgow (60% office attendance per week mandatory)

IR35: Inside

Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £420 per day

Security Clearance: BPSS

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and oversee the Government Soft Landings approach, supporting seamless transition from capital projects into operational asset management.
  • Act as the GSL Champion in line with BS 8536, ensuring all relevant stakeholders and role holders are engaged, supported, and clear on their responsibilities.
  • Maintain and improve the accuracy, accessibility, and assurance of the department’s ‘golden thread’ of asset information.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, delivery partners, and supply chain organisations to ensure GSL principles are embedded throughout project delivery.
  • Support early engagement with Facilities Management and Asset Management teams to ensure BIM and Soft Landings processes are effectively implemented.
  • Analyse project, asset, and assurance data from multiple sources to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop clear data visualisations and dashboards (using Power BI or advanced Excel) to present GSL performance, KPIs, and insights to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of a structured GSL reporting framework, including performance metrics and assurance tracking.
  • Lead or support Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) activity, ensuring outcomes and lessons learned are captured, analysed, and fed back into future projects.
  • Manage and improve digital records and information management processes, driving improvements in data quality, consistency, and usability.
  • Support on handover from projects to FM / asset management.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working within the construction, design, facilities management, or asset management sectors.
  • Proven experience delivering or implementing Government Soft Landings / BSRIA Soft Landings on projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Strong understanding of information management and the information lifecycle within the built environment.
  • Experience working with asset, project, or building data across design, construction, and operational phases.
  • Ability to analyse data from multiple systems and sources, interpret findings, and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Strong skills in Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation) and/or Power BI for reporting and data visualisation.
  • Ability to communicate data‑led insights clearly through dashboards, reports, and summaries for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience contributing to or managing assurance processes, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Relevant degree, professional accreditation, or equivalent experience (e.g. Architecture, Engineering, BIM, Asset Management).
